Mardi Gras Season is in full swing on Alabama's Gulf Coast, home of the first Mardi Gras celebration! Mobile has already hosted tons of parades this February. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are prepping for their big Mardi Gras celebrations in less than a week. Having a vacation home in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores allows for enjoying these annual traditions. We love that these Mardi Gras festivities are family friendly too.
Here's what you can plan for next Tuesday:
On Fat Tuesday, March 5, 2019, Gulf Shores parade route will be down Highway 59 at 10 am. More details can be found here: http://www.gulfshoresal.gov/1250/Mardi-Gras-Parade.
Orange Beach Parades will roll down Perdido Beach Boulevard starting March 1, 2019. Check out the full schedule here. The main parade on Fat Tuesday rolls through at 2 pm!
LuLu's will host their annual Mardi Gras Celebration and Boat Parade! Festivities begin at LuLu's around 11am. Boats will be parading down the Intercoastal Waterway from the Wharf Marina in Orange Beach down to Homeport Marina at Lulu's in Gulf Shores. Boats are planned to arrive at Lulu's by 3 pm!
Whether you live in Orange Beach or Gulf Shores or own a second home here, come and celebrate Mardi Gras, Alabama style. If you've never been down to Coastal Alabama for Mardi Gras now's your chance to...Laissez les bons temps rouler! "Let the good times roll!"
PS: Grab a beignet from Cafe Beignet in Orange Beach one of our favorites!
